Unlock Relief and Navigate Through Frozen Shoulder with Physiotherapy!

Updated: Jun 19

Do you know what Frozen Shoulder is? It can be a painful and debilitating condition that can severely limit your mobility and make even simple tasks a challenge. But don't let it hold you back any longer! With the right exercises, you can take control of your recovery and get back to your daily routine.

While the onset of the condition is usually idiopathic, there are some common risk factors to be aware of, such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, and stroke. But don't worry, these factors don't have to determine your recovery. It's time to take action and get moving!

Phase 1

In the initial phase of Frozen Shoulder, characterized by pain and stiffness, you can use hot packs to get some relief. And don't be afraid to push yourself with basic forward elevation exercises using a cane or stick wielded by the unaffected arm. In some cases, a makeshift pulley system can also be beneficial.

Phase 2

As you progress to the stage of decreased range of motion, it's time to step up your game. With exercises like rotatory movement of the arm away from the body (external rotation), towards the body (internal rotation), and away from the body (abduction), you can start to regain your mobility. These exercises can be performed using a cane/stick, and you can even add some basic shoulder stretching exercises to your routine.

Phase 3

Finally, in the resolution phase, it's time to focus on building strength in your shoulder musculature. With thera bands and filled 1L or 2L water bottles, you can add resistance to your exercises and get even stronger.

So, if you're ready to take control of your recovery, don't wait any longer. Connect with the nearest physiotherapist and get started today! Remember, with a little effort and determination, you can overcome Frozen Shoulder and get back to living your life to the fullest.
